LYNYRD
    SKYNYRD and MONTGOMERY GENTRY
    on CMT
    ( Country Music Television)

Oh yeah,
they are lucky people that were invited to see the official meeting on stage
between one of the top new Country band and one of the best Southern Rock
    groups.. Just have a look
Johnny Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Billy Powell,
    Rickey Medlocke, etc
on stage and live on CMT channel (Country Music
Television) with Mr Montgomery and Mr Gentry, this ain't common
and what
do you think they are talking about
? It seems that they do have the
same musical language, as we can listen to a really moving "Red, White
and Blue" cover by New Country musicians, or these conversations between
the two bands members : Rickey Medlocke to Montgomery-Gentry :"When you
began, we can hear you've listened to many southern rock bands, because we
can listen to such roots in your music. You're even more Rock than Classic
Country.", and Gentry answers : "We do enjoy Southern Rock, and
we played it a lot in bars some times ago".

This meeting was a high point of this musical year. CMT began with "Call
me the Breeze" (sung by country men), then a wonderful "Hillbilly
Shoes" with great Johnny Van Zant vocals. Some Montgomery-Gentry texts
are not so far away from Skynyrd texts, as it is with this "Hillbilly
Shoes". Then "My Town", with always conversations between the
two bands. At the end, the unforgettable "Sweet Home Alabama"

Such a TV show is a real delight for fans, as it was some months ago when
ZZ Top and Brooks and Dunn where together, great moment too ! Last word for
Johnny Van Zant : "Lynyrd Skynyrd is a true family. We do have much time
together than with our families. I know we are lucky to do what we are doing
because so many people have such a bad job
We just do what we love !"
We do agree with you, Johnny !!
