ROLLING PHATTYS
Red Hot Joe (Cimsound Records- 2008)

Here is an excellent Southern Rock Blues album from Oklahoma, country of JJ Cale. Rollin’ Phattys dedicates its album to Jeff Myers, ex singer of Xebec, a famous band from Oklahoma in the seventies that made a great album called ‘Calm before the Storm’ in 1981 with beautiful songs such as ‘Spirit of the City’ and ‘Buchanan Street’, a song played by Rolling Phattys too. This album also has three great songs, in a Dickey Betts way, ‘Plantation Girl’, ‘Red Hot Joe’, ‘Creta’, a heavy boogie song with slide guitar on ‘Black Bear River’, and a particular Cajun song ‘Cochon de Lait’ written in French and with Chubby Carrier on the accordion.
