WIND
Groovin' Trip

Titles: 1 Lucky Man - 2 Fake It - 3 Why Me - 4 Boogie Man (Live) - 5 Can You Feel Me (Live) - 6 Dance With The Devil (Live)
7 Whipping Post (Live) - 8 One In A Million - 9 Trieste Wind

Remember my first WIND Chronicle on this site (for the new ones, search for it !). I'm a die-hard heavy metal fan, but I really enjoyed this sweet southern blues-rock album, full of delight and sweetness. But, take care, here it seems that musicians wore leather jackets for too long and drank too much alcohol!! Gov't Mule has given some ideas to these Italian guys. Five songs recorded in studio and four live songs make this "Groovin' Trip" a good choice for Christmas gifts, with mister Johnny Neel (ex-Allman Brothers Band playing on Whipping Post live) playing Hammond organ, with nice and rich improvisations, and showing how gifted is this Italian band. WIND is a creative group and it is really surprising to see how good and gifted they are. With such a guest star, they show us too they can play nice songs and this is good for our favourite music future. Only good stuff, nothing to throw away !

While listening to this new album, we're pretty happy to hear bands playing their music, with passion, with no concession to the "top selling music industry" : W.I.N.D is playing the music they feel deep in their guts. Always heavily influenced by the Allman Brothers band and Gov"t Mule and with this 70's spirit, it's with a real big attention that I listened to this new album. When you hear the very first song, "Going lazy", you know whicj kind of music you're gonna have, the slide guitar intro from Jimi introduces a "Gov't mule-Warren Haynes" 's atmosophere and when you know Fabio's groove on the bass reminds of the late Allen Woody, you know what I mean. W.I.N.D also has on this album a guest, Johnny Neel himself, who plays his keyboards for his italian friends. All along this album, W.I.N.D is developping its taste and abilities in the improvised music. The songs are often 7 or 8 min long, which is not the length for radio standards, when I told you these guys were sincere and were attracted by the commercial aspect, you know what I mean. Other great moments of the album are the listenings of the two covers, "Hoochie Coochie man" which is really close to the Allman's version, and "Sponfull". These guys really love Jack Bruce and Cream. Needless to say, W.I.N.D willenjoy all the Mule's fans, the ABB's fans, why not fans from the Black Crowes or Cry of Love, and many more. Let's go back to listen again this wonderful song, "Over the sun".

Do you wanna have a good time listening to a great album ? OK, so follow this advice, you won't regret it if you're a fan of Gov't Mule's kind of music. A blues, blues-rock album full of energy and atmospheres. Big production, nice arragrements, great songs. For sure, Italy is not only the country where you can hear Rondo Veneziano !!!
