WINTERS BROTHERS
The 29th annual Southern Summer Jam

Why is the Winters family doin' that jam every year, for 29 years now?

Why are people coming from all over the USA every year to that jam?

Why are 2 european southern rockers flying to the USA every year, just to see that jam?

Why has this jam survived all these years and turbulences in southern rock?

I'll tell you why!

It started out 29 years ago, as a nice party the night before the Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam and it never has changed!

The Volunteer Jam was runnin for about 13 years and took a break from 1987 to 1999, when it started again but in a completely different way, as a 3 band tour.
But the Southern Summer Jam, insiders simply call it simply "the Jam",
has never changed over the years and nothing in southern rock has run that long.
The Jam is still at the same family farm of the Winters family.
The stage is still in the barn.

It is still old fashioned, relaxed, cool, laid back and nice there.
People are still allowed to bring their own cooler, filled with sodas, beer and booze,
their own food (Earnie is offering a fantastic BBQ), lawn chairs, blankets and stuff.
People come with parents, grandparents, kids, grandkids, because it is a party for everyone. No security will check your bag and won't let you in with a wallet chain, umbrella or stuff. 10 bucks at the door and you get in with your car, truck, bike...
yes, I've seen people coming on horses!

Musicians are always around, ready to sign something, pose for a picture
and share a story.

In the middle of all, THE MAN: Dennis Winters, the fearless leader of the veteran southern jam rock group the WINTERS BROTHERS BAND and his fantastic
wife Lynda in background.

Yes, the WINTERS BROTHERS BAND is still around, still hot, sounding still fresh and nothing like tired, worn out, down...

This year, on june 14th 2008, that was the saturday before America celebrate their Fathers Day (like every year, so easy to remember).
Gates open at 4pm and the 29th annual southern summer jam was startet by a few young, very talented songwriters and accoustic musicians, followed by: Billy Hesters, Ricky Campell, the Southern Belles, Jamie Le Ritz, Zack Zucker, Billy Terry, Charlie Marie, Mike Greenwood, Sweetwater, Kerri Lee, Greg Fiddler Holt, Greg Jones, Icarus, Atomic Boogie (music for everybody, from the 50ties until today) and as the headliner, veteran southern rockers, the WINTERS BROTHERS BAND.

They played their whole program: "Country boy rock and roll", "Ain't gonna let it", "Misty Mountain Morning", "Sang her love songs", "Devil after my soul", "Smokey mountain log cabin Jones", "Homegrown" and much more......

After more than 30 years in southern rock, the WBB have about three hours
of well known songs and hits.

But they are coming back on stage for encores and several guests join them and jam together, sometimes 5 guitars on stage, endless soli and songs like "Can't you see", "Sweet Home Alabama", "I can't help" and more......

A great, fantastic event, a jam at his best. After 29 years, jams at the highest level,
I'm close to say "nothing special, just great".

So if you wanna see something very special, next year, they will celebrate
the 30th anniversary and believe me, that will be something very special
with many surprise guests.

So mark your calender and start saving your money.

June 2009, the saturday before Fathers Day, Winters family farm in Nolensville TN,
just a few miles south of Nashville.

The 30th southern summer jam ! History will be written on that event.

Don't miss it.
